What has happened?
Microsoft have updated their authentication process which currently prevents Microsoft users from sending emails via Z Software.
Currently, if you attempt to send an email via the Z programs, you will receive either one of these prompts:
How do I check if I'll be affected?
If you are currently using a Microsoft email (e.g. Outlook or Hotmail), you most likely will be affected by this change.
To check what email you currently are using to send emails within Z Software:
- Go to Z Office > Settings > Store Settings
- Go to the Communication tab
- Check your Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) and/or Username:
If you are using an email ending in: outlook.com, outlook.com.au, hotmail.com OR your Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) contains "outlook", you most likely will be affected by this Microsoft update.
What do I need to do?
We are working on updating our Z programs to use the new authentication method. In the meantime, if you need to send through emails or statements through Z programs, we recommend you using an alternative email provider like Gmail etc.
