The Label Designer section is where you can create and edit your label designs (e.g. dispensary label, stock label, shelf talkers, webster etc).
In most cases, after you've been converted over to Z Software, we'll assist you in getting all your label designs to your liking. This guide is for reference if you ever want to change a label.
Creating or Editing a Label
Generally, we recommend using the default labels (indicated with a ) as a starting point, as it makes it easier to customise than starting from scratch.
- Go to Z Office > Tools > Label Designer > Create New
- The Select Label Type window should appear:
Select from either Stock Label, Dispense Label or Pak Foil - The Add New Label Details window should appear:

a. Label Settings
i. Label Name - The name of the label
ii. Default Page Layout - This is the default page layout that this label will use. e.g. A4 page, 3 Thermal Across, 1 Thermal Across etc. It's the type of paper/media that the labels will use.
iii. Label Size - This is the size of EACH label e.g. 3 Thermal Across label will have 3 labels across. This setting will determine the sizing of 1 label of those 3 across labels.
The Width (cm) and Height (cm) will take the settings from the Label Size.
iv. Zoom - The Zoom setting refers to the Label Designer Panel (C) and the sizing of the zoom of the label previewer.
v. Grid Precision - The Grid Precision refers to the Label Designer Panel (C) and the level of detail of the grid.
b. Label Components
To add a label component to the design, click and drag the item into the Label Designer.
c. Label Designer Panel
The Label Designer is the template of your label. You can move the components by dragging them around on the label.
d. Component Settings
a. Label Settings
i. Label Name - The name of the label.
ii. Label Size - This the type of label design (e.g. Fred, Amfac, LOTS etc) that you are currently using.
The Width (cm) and Height (cm) will take the settings from the Label Size.
iii. Zoom - The Zoom setting refers to the Label Designer Panel (C) and the sizing of the zoom of the label previewer.
iv. Grid Precision - The Grid Precision refers to the Label Designer Panel (C) and the level of detail of the grid.
