What is MyHR?
My Health Record is a secure online summary of an individual’s health information, and is available to all Australians. Healthcare providers authorised by their healthcare organisation can access My Health Record to view and add to their patients’ health information (taken from their website. Please visit their website for more information on MyHR).
Getting Started
- You'll need to ensure that you have the following:
a. HPI-O (Healthcare Provider Identifier – Organisation)
b. NASH Certificate from PRODA + Personal Identification Code. For more information on how to obtain these please refer to the MyHR website here. - Once you have all the above information, you can proceed to install your NASH certificate and enable MyHR for your pharmacy. Please refer to our article Installing Your NASH Certificate for a detailed guide on how to do this.
Using MyHR
Retrieving a Pharmacist's HPI-I (Healthcare Provider Identifier – Individual)
The system will check the pharmacist's AHPRA Number, Given Name and Surname to find the pharmacist's HPI-I. Please ensure these are correct if you are unable to find your HPI-I.
- Go to Z Dispense > Pharmacists > Search for Pharmacist
- Press Save to retrieve the pharmacist's HPI-I. The system attempt to search for the pharmacist's HPI-I:
- The pharmacist should update with their HPIINumber
Retrieving a Patient's IHI (Individual Healthcare Identifier)
To access MyHR, you will need to ensure that the patient has an IHI (Individual Healthcare Identifier).
This number should be automatically retrieved by the system, but there are minimum demographic requirements that Z Dispense uses to obtain the IHI number:
- Surname
- Gender
- DOB
In addition, these details can also be used to find the patient's IHI number:
- Address
- Medicare Number
- Entitlement Number
The IHI number will appear in the Patient's Details (F8) under MyHR:
This is automatically retrieved from the Digital Health and cannot be manually inputted. If you can't find a patient's IHI, please ensure that all the patient's information is correct.
Accessing MyHR
Once Z Dispense has retrieved the patient's IHI, the MyHR button in Z Dispense should change from to .
- Access patient's MyHR
- Access patient's allergies in MyHR
- Press to open the patient's MyHR OR 'F3' on the keyboard
- The Login Required prompt should appear:

Navigating MyHR
Prescription and Dispense View
This is an overview of the patient's prescriptions and dispense history.
a. Date Filter - Select the date range to view the dispensary history on.
b. Group By:
i. Prescription (default)
ii. Generic Name
iii. PBS Item Code
iv. Brand Name
c. Dispense Record - Click on this to expand the medication details as shown above.
Documents
This provides a list of all the documents that the patient has.
By default, Z Dispense will only show the newest documents that haven't been viewed yet. You can change the filters to view older documents.
Medicines Information
The medicines information view can quickly sort and display medicines information held in a patient’s My Health Record documents in date or alphabetical order.
Shared Health Summary
This page presents an overview of who can create shared health summaries, when they should be created, and how to create them.
Discharge Summary
A discharge summary is based on a national standard for a patient's hospital visit.
MyHR Allergies
- Press to open the patient's MyHR Allergy Report
- The Login Required prompt should appear:

What Gets Sent to MyHR?
As MyHR provides a centralised overview of the patient's information, all prescriptions (unless selected not to) will be uploaded to MyHR. This includes:
- Original and Repeat Prescriptions
- Owings
- Regulation 24
- S3R

Do Not Send Dispense Record to MyHR
For each script, you can enable a setting to not send the record to MyHR.
- Go to Z Dispense and start dispensing as per usual
- After the drug selection, in the middle panel, tick 'Do not send dispense record to My HR'
OR
Press 'CTRL + SHIFT + F3' on the keyboard - Finish the script.
Disabling MyHR
The software update is progressively being released to stores and so you may not have this feature available to you yet. If you wish to receive the software update earlier, please let us know.
If your pharmacy only wants to be connected to the HI Services only to access HI Services for Electronic Prescriptions/Active Script List and DO NOT want to send any information or access MyHR, we now have a setting that will disable it.
To disable MyHR:
- Login to Z Dispense on your server computer. If you are unsure which computer is the server, please refer to our Help Portal article: How do I find my Server Computer.
- Go to Store > Store Configuration
- Go to the Health Services tab:
- Untick the Enable My Health Record option:
Note
The NASH Certificate section (i.e. HPI-O + NASH certificate imported) and the Responsible Officer must be filled to continue using HI services. - Press to save the change.
- Please restart Z Dispense on all workstations to apply the change.

Z Dispense will use this demographic data to find the patient's IHI from Digital Health. Please ensure that you have the following fields filled for the patient:
- Surname
- Gender
- DOB
In addition, these details can also be used to find the patient's IHI number:
- Address
- Medicare Number
- Entitlement Number
Ensure that you have a valid HPI-I. Follow this guide to retrieve your HPI-I.
You can disable this setting by unticking 'Do not send dispense record to My HR' or using the keyboard shortcut: 'CTRL+SHIFT+F3'
