If your pharmacy plans to replace your server computer, there are a few things that we will need to perform and prepare on the new server to ensure the Z Programs transition smoothly. This article will go through how we'll be assisting in the process of replacing your server computer.

As your server governs all the Z programs across your pharmacy computers, it is important that the new server is prepared before switching out the old one.

Before the Server Migration

Once you have decided on a date to change the server computer, please contact Z Support to provide the following information:

• When the new server will be ready BEFORE the changeover for us to prepare it for our software.
• The date and time you would like to schedule the changeover/migration. Our Support Hours are Mon-Fri 8:30am - 9pm EST and Sat/Sun 9am - 5pm EST.
  

During the Server Migration

We recommend the migration of the old to new server be performed after trading hours (when the pharmacy closes) as you won’t be able to use the software during the changeover.

On the night of the migration, a Z Software technician will contact your pharmacy at an agreed time to:

• • Take a back up from the old server and load it into the new server so your Z Program data will be retained.
  • Help re-configure the pharmacy's workstations to connect to the new server once it is linked with the network (which is done by your IT technician).

This process usually takes 30-60 minutes depending on how many workstations you have, as we will need to reconfigure each workstation to connect to the new server.

After the Server Migration

After the server migration is completed, please contact any relevant 3rd party companies that your pharmacy currently uses, to reinstall and setup those programs. This includes 3rd party integrations like:

• Intellipharm
• Nostradata
• Webstercare
