This article will go through configuring Symbol branded barcode scanners.

Configuring the scanner may:

• Help fix minor scanning issues
• Allow it to scan a wider variety of barcodes
• Add important functions, like an ENTER suffix to occur immediately after each scan to process the scanned barcodes

To configure your Symbol Barcode Scanner:

1. Please open and print the Barcode Scan Configuration Sheet attached at the bottom of the page. The file contains 12 numbered barcodes.
2. Use the barcode scanner to scan the barcodes in chronological order from 1-12, where 1 is the top barcode labelled Set All Defaults. Please try and ensure that you only scan 1 barcode at a time.
   
   Note
   You do not need to be on any particular screen on your computer when you scan the barcodes from the sheet.
3. After scanning all 12 barcodes, you can test the scanner in the Z programs.
4. If you experience further issues with the scanner, please contact the supplier or manufacturer of the product to ask them to provide further assistance with the configuration.
