This quick guide explains the different ways you can move between scripts and patients while using Patient Check.
Once you are in Patient Check, you can move between scripts by scanning a dispense label, selecting another script for the current patient, or opening the Patient Check selection window.
Scan a dispense label
Scanning the barcode on the dispense label is the quickest way to load the next script in Patient Check.
With Patient Check open, simply scan the barcode on the dispense label. You do not need to select a field, open the selection screen or perform another action first.
Scan the label to load:
- Another script for the patient currently displayed
- A script for a different patient
When a script for another patient is scanned, Patient Check loads that patient and the corresponding script.
Scanning dispense labels is the recommended way to move between scripts and patients during your checking workflow.
Move through a patient’s scripts
The Total area displays the scripts available for the patient currently loaded in Patient Check.
You can click a script in the Total area to open it directly.
When you select Complete, Patient Check automatically moves to another pending script for that patient. This continues until there are no pending scripts remaining for the patient.
Once all of the patient’s scripts have been completed, Patient Check will not automatically move to another patient.
Select another script or patient
If you do not want to scan a dispense label, select the Patient Check selection button to reopen the selection window.
From this window, you can:
- Enter a script number
- Search for a patient
- Select a script from the displayed dispensing list
- Change the date to view scripts dispensed on another day
Select the required script to load it in Patient Check.
