You can set Special prices in the Pricing Details tab in the drug card. Alternatively, refer to our guide on Setting Special Pricing to apply special pricing in bulk.
Using the Special Pricing tool, you can export your special prices to a .CSV and import updated prices back into Z Dispense.
Exporting Special Prices
To export Special Prices using the Special Pricing Tool:
- Go to Z Dispense > Tools > Special Pricing:
- Bring up the list of items that you wish to add special pricing to:
Using Stock Tags:
1. In the top left-hand corner, click the drop down box next to 'Stock tag'
2. Select the stock group you would like to manage (created in Z Office), otherwise select 'All Special Price Items' to view all items with a special price:
Manually Adding Stock:
1. In the bottom left-hand corner, click Add
2. Search for the medication you would like to add a special price for and press Select: - Click on Export:
- Name the file and select where you would like to save it. Click Save when you are ready:
- Open the Excel sheet and update the appropriate fields. The import tool will only look at the following fields for Private Pricing, PBS Pricing and Club Pricing:
- Special Price
- Qty
- Start Date
- End Date
You cannot update any other information through the Special Pricing Import/Export tool apart from those.
Importing Special Prices
It is recommended to use the Excel File (.csv) that is generated when exporting Dispense Special Pricing as the import will ONLY work in that format.
To import Special Prices using the Special Pricing Tool:
- Go to Z Dispense > Tools > Special Pricing:
- Click on Import and select the file you wish to import:
- The Special Pricing Import Match By prompt should appear. Select which matching criteria you wish to use then press Import.
- The Special Pricing Import Review window should appear. In this window, the system will let us know what items have matched AND what values are going to be imported into the system.
Import: This will import the special pricing into the Special Pricing window BUT it will not save the prices against the stock cards until the user presses ‘Save’ in the original Special Pricing window.
Import & Save: This will import the special pricing into the Special Pricing window and immediately save these values.
