Special pricing allows for a set price for private and PBS (Non-Claimable) medications.
Drugs
- Go to Z Dispense > Drugs
- The Drug Selection window should appear. Search and select the drug to update
- Go to the Pricing Details Tab:
- To add a special pricing:
a. Tick 'Use Special Private Pricing' or 'Use Special PBS Pricing'
b. Press on the to add a special price
c. Select 'Use fixed final price' option for a set price
d. Type in the desired Special Price, Qty, Start Date and End Date (the dates can be left blank if not required)
NoteThe QTY generally means the QTY of the box. e.g. Lipitor 10mg 30 Tabs, you would set the QTY to be 30 for the special pricing of $10 to apply.
- Press Save

Adding a Special Pricing
- Go to Z Dispense > Tools > Special Pricing
- Press to add a special pricing. The drug selection window should appear and select the drug you wish to add a special pricing for:
- This setting with automatically copy the value inputted in the private pricing into the PBS Pricing - Type in the desired Special Price, Qty, Start Date and End Date (the dates can be left blank if not required).
- Continue Steps 2-3 for other medications if required
- Press Save
Using the Stock Tag
Stock Tags allow you to group stock cards together. The Stock Tags in Z Dispense are linked to the Stock Groups in Z Office, which gives you greater ability to filter stock cards and group them together so that you can set a special pricing in Z Dispense.
<All Special Price Items> will show you a list of all the stock cards that currently have a special price set
To create a new stock tag:
- Select <Create New Stock Tag>
- The Stock Tag Description window should appear:
Input the Stock Tag Description and press save - Follow the steps in 'Adding a Special Pricing' (above)
- Press Save
