Sales reports can show transaction details, sales values, profits and margins, filtered by sales type, stock, customer, department etc.
To create a sales report from scratch:
- Go to Z Office > Reports > Create New
- Select Sales Report for the Report Type
- In the Report Design tab, add filters and columns to your report
- In the Report Parameters tab, add a start and end date for your report. The sales report will only show you transactions between the start and end date.
- Press Generate to run the report
- Save the report template with a name for future use
Alternatively, you can select from one of the many system report templates:
- Go to Z Office > Reports > Manage Reports
- Press Search to bring up all the saved report templates
- Scroll through the list of reports (they will be grouped by report type)
- Double-click the report you want to run
- Edit the report parameters or design if needed
- Press Generate to run the report
Commonly used sales reports
Department Sales - Shows the Sales figures for each Department within the selected period, listed in alphabetical order.
Discounts Given - Shows transactions where a discount has been given within the selected period, in order of most recent to oldest.
Refunds Given - Shows transactions where a refund has been given within the selected period, in order of most recent to oldest.
Sales per Day - Shows the sales breakdown for each day within the selected period.
Stock Sold for Less than Cost - Shows transactions where a items have been sold for less than cost within the selected period, in order of most recent to oldest.
Voided Receipts - Shows voided receipts within the selected period, listed from most recent to oldest.
Commonly used filters
Expensive medications - add a Range Filter of Stock Cost > X where X is the cost of the medication.
This will run a sales report filtered for stock that costs more than $500.
Promotional items - add a Range Filter for sales where a promotional discount was given.
