To enhance the performance, security, and compatibility of Z Software, we are transitioning to a more advanced framework that requires a modern operating system environment.
As a result, it may be necessary for you to upgrade your Windows operating system and/or Windows components (.NET Framework) to continue using Z Software without any disruptions.
Recommended Windows OS Versions
Depending on your current Windows version, we have listed below our recommendations on what you should upgrade to:
Current Windows Version | Recommended Windows Version |
Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 | Windows 10, Windows 11 |
Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2016 | Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2022 |
Please also refer to our hardware specifications for further information.
Recommended .NET Framework Version
From March 1st, 2024, you will need to be running at a minimum .NET Framework 4.8 to ensure that you can still use Z Software.
.NET Framework is a software development framework used for building and running applications on Windows. It's normally bundled within your Windows operating system.
Unfortunately, checking your .NET Framework version on your computer isn't straight forward but you can follow the steps here.
Alternatively, you can download .NET Framework 4.8 from here and install the .exe. The installer will do a check if you're already running .NET Framework 4.8 or higher. If you're already running .NET Framework 4.8 or higher, it won't attempt to install it. If you're running anything less than .NET Framework 4.8, it will attempt to install it.
