There are multiple legislation changes for NSW pharmacies from November 5th, 2026.
In particular, we have updated our programs to accommodate the following changes:
- S4D Medicines prescriptions will now be valid for 12 months, increased from the previous 6 months
- Added date of birth component for Dose Administration Aids
What do I need to do?
We have sent the latest software versions with these changes to all NSW stores. These changes are included in Z Dispense v3.0.118 and Z Office v2.0.110 and higher.
You can check your software versions on the toolbar or in Help > About:
The changes don't look like they've applied?
If you are on the correct versions and the update doesn't look like it's applied, in particular with the S4D medication expiry, please restart Z Dispense and check again.
I am on an older version - how do I update?
We have sent all stores the latest software versions with the changes and it should automatically flow down to your store/s. However, if you still haven't received the update:
- Go to your server computer
- To check if the computer is the server computer, there should be an icon that has two cogs on it and called 'Z Scheduler Utility'
- Open Z Scheduler Utility and press 'Restart'
- Wait 15-30 minutes
- You should receive a prompt update Z Dispense to v3.0.118
If after 15-30 minutes you don't receive the prompt, please reach out to our support team to assist you.
How do I add the date of birth component to my pak?
Check Which Pak Foil Design You're Using
Firstly, you will need to check which Pak Foil Design you're using so you can check which one to modify.
Go to Z Dispense > Workstation > Printing and under Paks, check the Pak Foil Design:
Add DOB Component to Pak Foil Design
Once you have checked what design you're using, go to Z Office > Tools > Label Designer > Manage Labels.
Search for your Pak Design and select the pak.
Under Label Components, find Patient Date of Birth and drag it to where you would like it to appear on the pak:
