From Dispense v2.3.172+, the Change Patient function has been enabled again for paper scripts.

If you have accidentally dispensed scripts under a wrong patient, or have accidentally merged 2 patients together and now need to move/transfer scripts to different patients, you can use the Merge History Tool.
Change Patient
If you have incorrectly dispensed a script under the wrong patient and need to quickly change it to the correct one, you can use the Change Patient function to move incorrect paper scripts to another patient.
- Go to Z Dispense > Search for the Patient
- Highlight the script you wish to move > Right Click and press Change Patient or the keyboard shortcut 'N'
- The Change Patient window should appear. Search for the patient you wish to move the script to:
- Process/dispense the script under the new patient
Merge History Tool
- Go to Z Dispense > Tools > Merge History
- The Merge Script History window should appear:
- In the “Select Source Patient”, type in one of the patients. It should bring up all their script history
- In the “Select Target Patient”, type in the other patient.
- To move scripts between the patients, you can highlight the script(s) and use the or buttons, depending on which patient you'd like to move the script to. The two other icons: and are to move ALL scripts to one patient.
- Once you have moved the required scripts, click Close
What happens if I can't remember which script belongs to which patient?
If you are unsure which scripts belongs to which patient, a good starting point that we suggest is looking at the script's Claim History to see who it previously belonged to. This will only work on claimable/under co-payment scripts.
- Go to Z Dispense > Type in the Patient's Name in the Search Box
- In their Script History on the right, either highlight the script and right click and press "View Script" or press the keyboard shortcut "V"
- Go to the Claim History tab
- In the Claim History section, you scroll across to double check patient's details that it was claimed under. In particular, you can see the Given Name, Surname, Medicare # etc:
