Managing PBS Claims

Accessing the PBS Claims and Reports

To access the PBS Claims and Reports:

  1. Go to Z Dispense > Claims

  2. The Claims window should appear:

Claim Periods & Reports

From here, you are able to close and finalise claim periods and view the reports for those claim periods.

Managing Claim Periods

To bring up a different claim period, type in the Claim Period Number in the Claim Period # field or type the last 2 digits of the year to bring up all the claims for that year (e.g. type 21 to bring up all the claims periods for 2021 etc):

Once you have selected a particular claim period, you can click on the Actions button for additional options:

Claim Period Statuses

For more information on how to close the claim (2 step process), please refer to our article on Closing the Claim.
  • Open: The claim is open with Medicare. This is generally the current claim period
  • Closed: The claim has been closed and rolled over to the next claim period 
  • Closed (Finalised with PBS): The claim has been sent off to Medicare to be processed
  • Processed: The claim has been processed by Medicare

Claim Reports

To access the Claim Reports, click on the Reports button to bring the list of reports:

Claim Period Totals

The Claim Period Totals shows you a snapshot of the selected claim period's breakdown.

Scripts in Claim

This section shows all the scripts in the claim and allows you to quickly filter for scripts that might of interest e.g. Rejected Scripts etc:

Script Details

This provides a further in depth view of a script's claim status.

You can also quickly go to particular scripts by entering the Serial # of the script. To bring up particular scripts where 'X' is the Serial Number:

  • X (e.g. '1'): will bring up the General or UnderCo script
  • CX (e.g. C1): will bring up the Concession script 
  • RX (e.g. R1): will bring up the Repat script 
  • BX (e.g. B1): will bring up the Doctor's Bag script
  • EX (e.g. E1): will bring up the Concessional Safety Net script

Once you have selected a particular script, you can click on the Actions button for additional options:
