If you are unable to use Z Office Express (ZOE) and it prompts you to 'Please input the IP Address and the Port number', there are a few things that you can try.
Connecting to the correct network
In most cases, if you get a request to input the IP Address and Port Number, your device is most likely connected to the wrong network. Please check your WI-FI settings to ensure your are connected to the store's network and that the mobile data is turned off for your device .
Please ensure that you are connected to the same network as the server computer. You may need to contact your hardware provider or the person who set up your network to gain access.
Ensure that 'ZOEService' is running on the Server
Similarly to how the Z Software programs require Z Scheduler Utility Service to be running, ZOE requires its own service to be running.
- Go to your server/master computer.
- To check if the computer is the server/master computer, there should be an icon on the desktop that has two cogs on it and called 'Z Scheduler Utility'
- Go to Windows Services (guide on how to get there)
- Find 'ZOE Service' and ensure that the status says 'Running'
- If it's not running, highlight on the service and either press 'Start' at the top left OR right click and select 'Start':
- Close out of the ZOE app and try again
Manually inputting the IP Address and Port number
In some cases, you will need to tell ZOE how to find the server by inputting the IP address and port number.
To find the Server IP Address:
- Go to your server/master computer.
- To check if the computer is the server/master computer, there should be an icon on the desktop that has two cogs on it and called 'Z Scheduler Utility'
- In the start menu, type in ‘cmd.exe’ and press enter to run the application.
- The Command Prompt window should appear:
- In this window, type in ‘ipconfig’ and press enter.
- Your IP Address will be listed under IPv4 Address
If your server is connected by a cable to the network, your IPv4 address will appear under the ‘Ethernet adapter Network’ and if it is connected by WI-FI, it will be listed under ‘Wireless LAN adapter WI-FI’Server connected via Ethernet Cable:
Server Connected wirelessly via WI-FI:
- Enter this address into ZOE and use 60001 as the port number:
- Press 'Yes'.
