FAQs
Why do I need to upgrade my server computer's Windows versions?
eRX and Medisecure are planning on upgrading the ASL server's security protocols and therefore if you are running on Windows 7, 8, Server 2008 or Server 2012 on your server computer, you will no longer be able to access ASL after August 24th, 2022.
How do I know what version of Windows I'm running on my server computer?
Please refer here on how to check your Windows version.
Can you upgrade my server computer's Windows versions?
Unfortunately, Windows issues are not part of our support scope. You will need to contact your IT or hardware technician to assist in upgrading your server computer.
If you are getting a new computer completely and need to migrate your Z Software database, we can assist with that.
I don't have an IT or hardware technician - can you recommend someone?
Please refer to our recommended hardware contacts (Pages 4-6) if you don't have an IT or hardware technician to help you.
Should I upgrade my workstations Windows versions as well?
Yes. We do not support or recommend Windows 7 as it is no longer supported by Microsoft and therefore doesn't receive any security updates or fixes.
Can I upgrade to Windows 11?
While we have had some pharmacies upgrade to Windows 11, we don't recommend it yet as it is still undergoing testing.
What happens if I don't upgrade by August 24th, 2022?
You won't be able to access ASL if you are still running on Windows 7, 8, Server 2008 or Server 2012 on your server computer after August 24th, 2022.
