ACSS Claiming Changes
From the 1st of July 2025, the Additional Community Supply Support (ACSS) will be available via PBS Online and pharmacies will get “real-time” ACSS assessment on their PBS scripts/claims.
The ACSS has two components:
- A payment of $4.79 (in 2024-25) for each supply of a Commonwealth subsidised PBS or RPBS prescription of a section 85 medicine with increased dispensing quantities by an approved pharmacist, when supplied at the full maximum dispensing quantity; and
- A payment of $0.78 (in 2024-25) for each supply of a Commonwealth subsidised PBS or RPBS prescription of a section 85 medicine dispensed by an approved pharmacist.
An example of the fees that can be paid:
Item | Pbs Code | QTY | ACSS Eligible Fee (Payment) |
Lipitor 10mg | 8213G | 30 | $0.78 |
Lipitor 10mg | 13495G (60DD) | 60 | $0.78 + $4.79 |
Added new fields for Expected and Actual ACSS & ACSS 60-Day fees
We have added fields to display the Expected and Actual ACSS & ACSS 60 Day fees. The Expected value shows the ACSS Fee calculated by the system at the time of dispensing, while the Actual value shows the value calculated and returned by the PBS.
To view the ACSS Fees, you can access them via the PBS Status tab in the View Script window:
We have also added the changes to the Claims window:
Updated Price Comparison Based on Script Type
We have updated the Price Comparison to automatically update the middle panel based on the script-type selected while dispensing. It will show the comparison price of an equivalent item for the patient selected. It will also find the price range of the comparison values including both generic medications as well as premium brands.
We have also updated the Price comparison section in Price Check Tool to make it easier for you to compare between different patient categories:
