What's New in this Update?

This update aims to address the recent industry and legislation changes. The implementation of this update was delayed due to a breakdown in communication, as well as the need to seek further clarification to ensure full compliance.

While we understand the challenges these delays may have caused, we appreciate your patience and understanding.

PBS Safety Net Changes 2025

The Australian Government has updated its PBS co-payment rules starting on January 1, 2025, with changes affecting threshold prescriptions that meet the PBS Safety Net threshold.

We will now prompt to issue the Safety Net card when the patient meets or exceeds the Safety Net Threshold and the prescription will be dispensed at the safety net rate. The prescription will also be recorded on the Prescription Record Form (PRF) at the safety net rate/patient contribution.

Tasmanian Health S4D Prescription Expiry (12 Months)

To accommodate for the recent communication from Tasmania Department of Health, we have increased the prescription expiry for S4Ds from 6 months to 12 months. 

With the latest software update, you will be able to dispense any valid S4D prescriptions, up to 12 months of the prescription date.

PBS B2B Device Improvements

As part of our ongoing commitment to enhance our user experience, we have been working closely with Services Australia to improve our error handling of B2B Devices. We have now added an hour grace period to help reduce B2B Devices from being removed when Services Australia temporarily has issues on their end.

While we have made these changes, we want to be transparent that we are not yet certain that these changes will completely resolve all outstanding issues. We will continue to monitor closely to ensure we find the best solution moving forward and thank you for your patience with this issue.
